Detailed Description
Located south of the bay of Banderas away from the traffic and noise of the city, there are two magical places that you can not miss during your vacation to Puerto Vallarta. One is the beach of Majahuitas, and the other the magical town of Yelapa
First, let me explain, these two locations are not accessible by car from anywhere in Puerto Vallarta. The umbilical cord that unites them with the outside world is by means of water taxis. This characteristic alone makes it very interesting, and the fact that they are located on the slopes of the western sierra madre means that it is surrounded by tropical vegetation, and a deep blue sea. All of this makes it irresistible. Come and see for yourself, you will not regret it. We offer everything you need to have a great day
Meeting Places
We have two main meeting places, the first is at the Nuevo Vallarta Marina for those who are in this area of the city, as well as those who are staying in the bucerias area, cruz de Huanacaxtle or even in Punta Mita
The second option is for those who are staying in Puerto Vallarta we can meet at the city's marine terminal, which is where most of the boats leave from. One of the busiest areas in town
Crossing the bay
Leaving our meeting point we will cross the Banderas Bay heading towards the south. It goes without saying that the panoramic views of the city of Puerto Vallarta, and the mountains on the horizon offer an spectacular view. On the boat we have everything necessary for you to be comfortable. We have drinks with an open barand non-alcoholic drinks available too.
Majahuitas

This is a private beach with white sand, where you have the possibility of doing all types of water sports. You can practice snorkeling (optional) crew members will organize this as part of the excursion activities. We have all of the necessary equipment such as lifejackets, mask and fins
Dive into the Pacific ocean to explore a little of what this place has to offer. There is an interesting amount of tropical fish. Just entering the water is an invigorating feeling
There is also options to do a banana ride, kayak, paddle board or simply lie on the beach allowing the incredible sea and sounds of the waves leave you hypnotized
On the way to Yelapa we will have a delicious "deli style" lunch served by the crew. Everything accompanied by your preferred drink
Yelapa

One of the most iconic places in Puerto Vallarta as we mentioned earlier this place is only accessible by boat. Come and familiarize yourself with the town of Yelapa. How many places in the world can you think of, where there are no cars? there are really only a few. Yelapa is one of them, come to see the narrow streets and let yourself be enveloped by its magic
Yelapa is a small bay within the bay of Banderas. It is a fishing village with a bohemian atmosphere which invites you to rest and let yourself be taken over by nature. Enjoy the views and the surrounding mountains
Yelapa has been the temporary home for composers, sculptors and plastics artist who seek to detoxify from the hectic pace of big cities and reconnect with mother nature
In Yelapa there are two rivers, the first is known as el Tuito and the second simply as Yelapa river which has a 98 feet waterfall. To really experience the waterfall, you have to walk about 20 minutes from the coast to the mountains. It is not difficult walk and very worth the travel time
Here our guests have two options, you can stay and relax on the beach, or you can make the short journey to the waterfall. The tour is great! If it is the rainy season you have to cross the mouth of a river, which includes walking uphill, but I promise you it is completely worth it. On the way there are locals who have products for sale. At the waterfall you can bathe or drink the cool water, you can also take the souvenir picture here.
The return views are breathtaking. Once we return the crew will have a show prepared for all to enjoy, very entertaining! All of this while enjoying the open bar. Do not hesitate to ask for information, or any questions you might have, we are here to serve you.

"We did the Yelapa & Majahuitas Tour. It was pretty good, it had some snorkelling and beach time, lunch, a short waterfall hike and more beach time, and then some entertainment on the way back. The crew was great. Very engaging and did their best to help everyone and ensure it was a fun day. I can't remember everyone's name. I would recommend this tour if you're looking for about a half day trip on the lower end of the price scale."

"The staff kept everyone entertained during the boat ride. The snorkeling at Majahuitas was good. We didn’t get a lot of time to snorkel but that was fine with me because I’m a rookie when it comes to snorkeling and I couldn’t have lasted much longer anyway. Really enjoyed it. Next we went to Yelapa and we fell in love with this place. Absolutely beautiful. It didn't seem like we got enough time at Yelapa. We would have liked to spend the whole day here or maybe a few days"

"Last January, my husband and I went to Mexico for the first time. We booked a Yelapa tour, and it was the highlight of our trip! I just read through all the posts, and am surprised that no one had reviewed this trip because it was awesome! We left early from the Nuevo port, and headed to the PV port to pick up some more people. The neat thing was that the cruise ships were in the port, and it was so cool to see them! (Never had seen one before!). We then headed out into the Bay, and got our snorkeling gear, and snorkeled at a remote beach. My husband and I had never snorkeled before, but it was exciting to try,, and to our surprise it was alot of fun! Then we headed to the fishing village of Yelapa, which is just beautiful! We walked up a hill (not too difficult), to a waterfall which we could refresh ourselves with! -incredible! After that we walked through the village, which was so quaint, and authentic Mexico. It was like we were walking in a movie! The tour guide led us to a restaurant on the beach, and after a drink, a lady was selling pies she made that morning. We had the lemon, and I tell you it was the highest, and most delicious pie we have ever eaten! If you go, don't miss the pie lady! I think she makes chocolate, and coconut too. It was beyond any expectations.

"This 8 hour tour takes you snorkeling at Majehuetas beach and on a walk to the waterfall and beach on Yelapa. They do provide wetsuits if the water is cold, which it was on our visit. The waterfall and natural pool is stunning and it's so interesting to walk through the small village there. You have time on the beach in Yelapa to enjoy the view and have some food or beverages. Breakfast, Lunch and drinks are provided on the catamaran. I couldn't say enough about the staff in terms of their professionalism and ability to entertain. Along the way we saw whale mom's and their babies breaching, a giant manta ray, baby pelicans. They have a photographer on the boat so that you can buy a cd of the pictures after the tour. Remember that you are on the water so bring layers to stay warm."
Nelly
"We started out with the Yelapa & Majahuitas adventure, the waters were too murky (due to undercurrent) to snorkel so we just swam and kayaked and then visited Yelapa & Majahuitas. It was very rustic & beautiful, but our favorite part was the Pie Lady, she would carry her pies around on a big platter on her head and offer them to people on the beach - they were wonderfully scrumptious pies!"

"My family and I did the Yelapa snorkeling tour. We booked less than 48 hrs in advance on their web page and got 10 of us on board with no hassel. We left from the port and there is a small fee to get inside so keep that in mind to have a few pesos handy. The crew were fantastic, very entertaining. The snorkeling stop was pretty good since they fed the fish, there was lots to see. The lunch was sandwiches and salads which all fit the bill just fine. The beach stop was good except there are lots of vendors on the beach trying to sell to you constantly and beggars too. I would not recommend this tour for kids younger than 7 or 8. Lots of drinking and loud music on the way back. It was a fun and informative experience."
Albert
"I enjoyed Yelapa much more, and made the day worthwhile. It started with a tour of the tiny village and a walk to the waterfall. It purported to be a peek into how the locals live, but was really just an excuse to sell us all more trinkets from china. We finally arrive at the waterfall and - more trinkets and beer for sale! Not my idea of fun. I finally left the group and made my own way to the beach - making several wrong, but interesting, turns in the process. I hung out at one of the several open air restaurants. Two margaritas later and all was right with the world! The food was delicious, drinks good, and the scenery gorgeous. I bought a slice of lemon pie from a lady walking about. Smart move sanitation wise? Probably not. Delicious? Absolutely! (I had no problems with any food vendors anywhere in PV by the way)."
Aimee
"Yelapa was a surprise - the excursion itself was wonderful, as was the hike through town up to see the waterfall. We were disappointed in the town of Yelapa itself. Yes I realize they live in poverty, but they are highly touted and we found the town to be well dirty. Recent looking candy wrappers, soda cans and other trash lined the streets. It reminded me of a morning after in New Orleans. I don't mind the unfinished buildings or rocky roads. That gives a place character, but trash? And then to retreat to the beach to relax and be pestered by the same 4-5 vendors and begging locals was annoying. This is first locale in Mexico we've been where they would not take no for an answer. We also realize there isn't much the tour company can do about the locals except maybe not offer the tour anymore until they clean things up."
Kim
"Yelapa - a boat ride, snorkeling, hiking to the waterfall and hanging on the beach. It was a fantastic day. There wasn't a whole lot to see in the water during snorkeling, but the water was clear and they fed the fish so if you're inexperienced you can just hang out with your life vest and watch the fish come to you. Definitely go to the waterfall! The hike up and down is a little long, but worth it, and you pass some interesting local life on the way. At the beach, we enjoyed a Coco Loco drink and the shrimp cocktail was amazing!"
Dawn
"The Yelapa tour was excellent. Capt Juan Carlos did an excellent job of finding us wild life such as whales and dolphins. Crew was fun and interactive. David was a great tour guide. Informative, fun and very caring. Snokeling was done in an efficient, careful and professional way. We never felt uncomfortable. (if you are prone to sea-sickness - take your medicine BEFORE taking this trip AND during the trip) The crew was excellent at taking care if you did get sick (yes, voice of experience - THEY WERE VERY KIND !). Majahuitas was a beautiful. The walk up to the waterful is challenging but taken slowly with beautiful stops along the way. The beach is amazing! Great trip!"
